“For many, this is where a lifelong love of dance begins. Putting every penny of its multi-million dollar budget on display, this festive classic combines Edmund Stripe’s breathtaking choreography, Tchaikovsky’s perfect score and the brilliance of Emmy-winning designer Zack Brown to create a stunning, opulent world you will return to again and again. Even after a hundred years, this epic battle of mice, toy soldiers, a Russian princess and the Sugar Plum Fairy still draws rave reviews”.

Don’t forget the Sugar Plum Party pre-show: a special holiday treat your children will never forget.

Come join us for this fun filled tradition as we gather with our family of volunteers to become hostesses for the amazing performance of the Nutcracker.

Everyone must be 18 years and over to volunteer.

Group volunteers accompanied with a group leader can be 16 years and over.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Woooo, talk about a crazy week. Our little community art project has been seriously hurt by a hit and run!! We hope whoever hit it is ok...but our baby was seriously injured. Don't worry though we called up the boys of Oliver APT to help us get it all fixed up and back in the game! By tomorrow we should have a working Before i die Chalkboard wall in action.

What a week! We are so thankful for all the help and support we've recieved and elated to get it fixed so quickly!

Ciao peeps - have a killer weekend!

XOX Action Gen.

Hi Everyone,

This past weekend was an exciting time at Action Generation - We ran away to Calgary and attended the Vitalize Conference. There was definitely some cool presentations and definitely some weird ones too (lets just say seeing a hypnotist whose playlist features backstreet boys at 8am on a saturday is no bueno) but all in all a packed and fun filled couple of days. Our favourite workshop disucssed social enterprise and the pros and cons of introducing it into your organization. Social enterprise is where you run a money making venture for your non profit so you don't have to secure as much funding from other sources, essentially you're making your own money which helps to run your programs. This workshop really fired us up and we'll be talking about this for sure at our next board meeting!

Have a good week everyone!

XOXO Team Action Gen.

A bit of history...

AYV (Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! Society) was started in 2006 by some awesome peeps not unlike yourselves. They were looking to volunteer but couldn't find any information on how to do it. Being go getters they decided that Alberta needed an organization just for youth to help us find our own information and opportunities!  AYV is an organization run by youth for youth!
