Volunteer and be part of the action

Where:  Kinsmen Sports Centre, Edmonton

When:    July 2-5, 2015

Do you have a few hours of free time?

Volunteer your time and get an up close and personal view behind the scenes at the 2015 Speedo Alberta Age Group and Senior Long Course Provincial Swim Championships. This four day event will see more than 800 swimmers from across the province battle it out in the water for best in the province bragging rights.

As host club for the event, the Olympian Swim Club is looking for volunteers with a love of sports and swimming who can help make this meet a success. Putting on a meet this size requires the assistance of volunteers who do timing, marshaling, stroke and turn, selling heat sheets, helping out in the office, assisting in the hospitality room, helping with pool set up, end of day clean up, and on the last day, tear down.

By volunteering your time at a session or two, we can guarantee you get the best seats in the house to watch the action as well as a great meal, drinks and snacks.

Over the course of the four days, preliminary sessions will run throughout the mornings, age group finals will run in the late afternoon and senior finals will run in the early evening. That is a total of 12 individual shifts that you can pick from.

If you can help out, or would like more information, contact our Officials Chair, Sophie Jobin, who would be happy to welcome you onto the pool deck. Sophie can be contacted at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

A bit of history...

AYV (Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! Society) was started in 2006 by some awesome peeps not unlike yourselves. They were looking to volunteer but couldn't find any information on how to do it. Being go getters they decided that Alberta needed an organization just for youth to help us find our own information and opportunities!  AYV is an organization run by youth for youth!
